There's something for everyone online

THE INTERNET has something for everyone - that's the message fromSwitch On Cornwall who are planning a series of events to help getpeople online.

There will be workshops in a variety of popular internet sites atthe Switch training centre on School Lane, Redruth.

And if your computer is too poorly to even get you started, seethe PC doctor at the training centre next Friday.

Ebay - August 8, 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Facebook - August 8, 1pm to 4pm.

Skype - August 16, 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Email - August 16, 1pm - 4pm Google - August 26, 9.30am to12.30pm.

Photography and your computer (for beginners) - August 26, 1pm to4pm and August 30, 9.30am to 12.30pm.

On August 19 they will be holding a social media awareness dayfor local businesses to attend - 10.30am to 2.30pm at the Miners andMechanics Institute in St Agnes, with "extended networking" at thebar afterwards. And on Bank Holiday Monday, August 29, there will bean open IT session at the Britannia Hotel in Chacewater 11am to 4pm.

They will also hold focus groups over the next month to find outhow disabled and elderly people and young people not in education,employment or training use the worldwide web. Switch Community Ltdsaid they hope to "find out the issues faced by these groups inrelation to using computers and the internet".
